Rochester, MI – (May 15, 2017) – The Women’s Fund recently presented the OPC with a $1000 grant for their Acts of Kindness Program.The OPC provides high quality programs and services that stimulate active and healthy living for all ages of older persons. OPC’s vision is to be the premier community resource center for the changing needs of older adults and those who love and care for them. OPC provides nutritional meals, senior resource services, activities, social and educational opportunities, transportation, adult day services, health & wellness programs and community outreach opportunities..
The Women’s Fund grant will help women 60+ who are low income with small home repairs, appliances, medical or other incidental costs. The grant check was presented to Renee Courtright, OPC Executive Director by Barb Cenko, Women’s Fund Board Member.
Over the past 16 years, the Women’s Fund has donated more than $300,000 to organizations helping women. The fund is a permanently endowed fund owned and administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester. Through grant-making, the Fund provides ongoing and future support for programs that aid women while preserving and managing its donations in perpetuity by spending only the fund’s income and annual earnings.
